And who doesn’t love them? Especially children.
Look into their eyes. These smiles are not just the joy of a new backpack or a set of pencils. For many of them, it’s a reminder that they’re not forgotten. That somewhere there are people who remember them, pray and want to support them.
The project “Back to School with Hope” by the NGO “We Can!” has already begun its journey through the cities and villages of Ukraine.
The first stop was the city of Pivdenne, Kharkiv region. It was here that we were able to give 33 children new backpacks and everything they need for learning: notebooks, pencil cases, lunchboxes, pencils, paints and other school supplies.
These children live only a few tens of kilometers from the front line, where sirens and explosions sound every day. Many children fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of shelling. Their childhood is not at all as it should be.
And that is why it is so important that they know that they are not alone.
We are sincerely grateful to our friends from the Swedish organization Hoppets Stjärna Sverige, thanks to whose support this help was made possible.
Special thanks to the team of the local church “Holy Trinity”, which organized a real holiday for children. There were many smiles, warm hugs, sincere emotions, gifts and, most importantly, prayers for each child and their family.
We believe that goodness begins with the love that God puts in people’s hearts. And when people unite for the sake of others, even a small gift can restore hope to a child.
