“Do Not Stop Doing Good”

“Mission of Good” in Kharkiv

Christmas… A time when both children and adults are especially waiting for a miracle. It was with this hope that the Mission of Good charity project went to Kharkiv to give a holiday to those who lost their homes, loved ones, and a quiet life due to the war.

The Molchanov family is a large family with eight children. For years, they have been building their home in the village of Slatyne near Kharkiv, just a few kilometers from the Russian border. Constant shelling… And the house is completely destroyed. The house in which all the savings were invested. The house in which children and grandchildren were supposed to grow up. But the war crossed out these dreams. The family was forced to urgently leave their native village, taking with them only the essentials.

The Molchanov family with gifts

In this difficult time, Mission of Good, together with its Swedish partners from the Star of Hope organization, came to support the family. Warm clothes for children. Products. Hygiene products. And, of course, sweet gifts – because even in times of war, children should feel the joy of Christmas.

“Thank you for your help! Merry Christmas!” – the large Molchanov family of benefactors from Sweden who supported them during this difficult period congratulates and thanks.

“We came from the city of Bakhmut. When the war began, I was pregnant,” Olena, a mother from the Bolotnyk family, shares her story. “Unfortunately, we had to change our place of residence. Now we live in the city of Pivdenne, Kharkiv region. We are very grateful for your help. This is extremely important for us. The children are happy, and so are we. Thank you very much.”

Bolotny family with gifts

“Thank you to our Swedish friends from Star of Hope and the NGO “We can!” for such wonderful gifts and for the real holiday that you made for us and our little children,” adds the family’s father Oleksandr Bolotnyk.

Volunteers of the NGO “We can!” together with Swedish friends from Star of Hope united to bring not only material help, but also care, support and the light of God’s love – where it is so lacking today.

“Good afternoon, we are the Manuylenko family. Because of the war, they were forced to move to the Kharkiv region. My son has special educational needs, so I am unable to work and constantly look after him. It requires specialized training. Thank you very much for your help! We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” Yana Manuylenko joins in the words of gratitude.

The Alan family with gifts

“Hello, my name is Yulia Alan. I am a mother of four children. In 2023, my husband died, and I was left alone with the children. I am sincerely grateful to the Star of Hope organization and the NGO “We Can!” for the assistance provided. We received warm clothes and food. This support is extremely important for us, especially in such a difficult time,” Yulia shares.

For these Ukrainian families, Christmas has become a reminder: God is near. He hears every prayer and does not remain indifferent to human pain.

And for us, the greatest reward was children’s smiles. Eyes filled with joy.
And the belief that it will definitely be better ahead.

Sincere gratitude to the volunteers of the Holy Trinity Local Church in Kharkiv for their active assistance in organizing and conducting the charity project “Mission of Good”.
